Conditions of Entry

The following Conditions of Entry apply to all Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink (COIR) customers for their comfort, safety and enjoyment. We ask that patrons report any accidents before leaving COIR. We ask that patrons report any accidents/incidents to the on duty Supervisor before leaving Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink.

 

REFUSAL OF ENTRY: 

  • Offensive or abusive language
  • Anti-social or disrespectful behavior – or anyone who has previously displayed ant-social or disrespectful behavior
  • Appears affected by drugs or alcohol
  • Any prohibited items that may cause injury or public nuisance

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS: 

  • All patrons skate at their own risk.
  • No refunds
  • Patrons must be appropriately clothed for a public place & must wear enclosed shoes into the venue & skates on the ice. Patrons with bare feet will not be permitted entry.
  • Food and drinks cannot be taken inside COIR (unless approved prior with management).
  • COIR is an unlicensed premise, & as such, the consumption of alcohol is not permitted.
  • Patrons wishing to bring personal items into the rink do so at their own risk, and should avail themselves of lockers whenever possible.
  • COIR will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of a patrons personal property.
  • Published session times and prices may be subject to change without notice.
  • Adults are responsible for minors under their supervision. Minors aged 12 and under must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times (whilst on COIR premises).
  • Unauthorised soliciting and customer surveying is not permitted.
  • Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink is an unlicensed premise, and as such, the consumption of alcohol is not permitted.

 

RINK RULES: 

Inside our rink, there will be NO:

  • Smoking
  • Food or drink on the ice (including chewing gum)
  • Thongs or bare feet whilst inside ice rink
  • Sitting on or climbing over the barrier
  • Entering the ice surface without skates
  • Throwing ice
  • Any digging into or intentional damaging of the ice surface
  • Spraying snow or splashing water
  • Fast or dangerous skating (includes pushing or pulling another skater)
  • Throwing or kicking of any item whilst on the ice
  • Vandalism or graffiti
  • Carrying children on the ice
  • Standing on seats
  • Wearing headphones whilst on the ice
  • Animals may not be brought onto the premises (guide dogs excepted)
  • Stand well back from barrier when Ice Hockey is being played

Prohibited items:

  • Glass or cans
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Laser pointers
  • Dangerous weapons including knives
  • Roller skates, skateboards, scooters & bicycles
  • Commercial cameras and recording devices (unless approved prior with management)
  • Offensive or political type clothing or logos
  • Any other items as determined by COIR management that may cause injury or public nuisance

 

Rink staff and management will enforce these rules at all times. Patrons must abide by any instructions given to them by rink staff. Failure to comply may result in you being asked to leave the rink (without a refund), or being banned permanently.
